This is not a food blog, a fashion or home decor blog, or a finance blog. Just a girl scrapping her way through and happy to settle for 'good enough.'

Here you'll discover that I'm stubborn and frugal and have a giddy obsession with getting by on as little money as we can. Let it be noted that I would NOT have started this if it weren't for the fact that so many people have looked at me with a look of shock after I tell them stories about what I ate for dinner...or what I bought for $1 at a thrift store...or how I bartered with my friend to clean her entire apartment in exchange for taking all her condiments out of her fridge when she was moving...or how I once ate a salmon that was literally in the trash can after a company party. They all have the same reaction: You have to start a blog.

You won't find beautiful pictures, appetizing recipes, or advice on how to have infallible financial resolve. I have zero credentials, very little time, and a pretty low culinary threshold, so really, don't set yourself up to be impressed by those things. What I do have is a mission of debt-free living, and a scrappy, persistent attitude of how to do that. We have a house, two kids, two cars, and both attended several lovely (pricey) institutions for our combined 4 degrees (Ok, only one is mine); there's a lifestyle we're maintaining...so our skimping takes its form in lots of little ways: many of which I'll share with you here.
